Human Sculpture

The mix between the human body and sculpture finds its origin in my combined fascination for fashion, dance and the human anatomy. By changing and covering up the body I created a sculptural form, in which the meaning as well as the shape is subject to constant change.

By packing the human body in huge polyether-foam shapes the moving sculpture finds its birth. It expresses the search for balance in both a literal and a figurative sense. The dancer pays a big effort to create a visually minimalistic movement in which unnatural poses are a necessity.

This search is documented on film and projected endlessly without breaking the tense moment between dropping out of balance and recapturing it.
